The SafeTape range of secure LTO Ultrium tape drives for the iSeries
SafeTape units utilise the Paranoia2 electronics mated with an IBM LTO drive in a purpose designed desk top enclosure to give iSeries users an all-in-one data security solution.
SafeTape units are available with different capacities and interfaces to suit a range of different feature connections.
All units are supported natively by OS400 and require no additional drives or software patches. The front panel LCD shows the operation of the unit and allows a visual indication of throughput and amounts of data.
Configuration of the unit is straight forward using the supplied Windows GUI.

The SafeTape range of secure backup units offers a complete solution in a single enclosure to simplify the installation of a solution to meet the requirements of regulatory rules in the financial, medical, research and similar areas of commercial, industrial and government organisations.
The SafeTape LTO unit is available with a choice of IBM LTO-1, IBM LTO-2 or IBM LTO-3 tape drive, in a desk top enclosure complete with integral power supply. The front panel LCD status display indicates the operation being performed as well as the amount and speed of data that has been transferred securely to tape.
SafeTape LTO-1 "Powered by Paranoia"
With an uncompressed capacity of 100 Gbytes this SafeTape encrypts using a unique dual interlaced 3DES2 mode. Tapes produced on a SafeTape unit can only be read by another Paranoia based unit with the correct user and hardware key. You can be sure of the integrity and confidentiality of your sensitive data when using a SafeTape product.
To ensure these units maintain both the high speeds and high capacity of the drives the SafeTape units have inbuilt pre-compression and an internal dual channel architecture with adaptive data caching. Select the SafeTape unit that meets your capacity requirement.
SafeTape is supported on all the major Independent Software vendors as well as on many legacy system so can be used in just about any system or configuration.
SafeTape LT0-2 "Powered by Paranoia"
Offering all the features of the SafeTape LTO-1 but with an uncompressed capacity of 200 Gbytes and greater throughput .
SafeTape LTO-3 "Powered by Paranoia"
With a massive 800 Gbytes compressed capacity this is the solution for the larger system where greater amounts of data need to be secured.
